Koh Phangan has always been a great place to be, and not just because of its natural beauty, because of the people. Koh Phangan is a meeting point for so many amazing people from such a diverse range of backgrounds – put all of these people into the mixing pot and you are sure to find yourself having an incredible time here.
As always, I'd like to remind people that Koh Phangan is like a rose – beautiful, but there are a few thorns that you have to be mindful of. If you're not careful and you grab on too tightly, you can end up bloodied. I can't go around telling everyone to wear shoes, and not to over indulge in the buckets, but I'm sure that those people who have experienced the unwanted side effects would be the first to point out that sometimes a little bit of extra care goes a long way. Alright, lecture over!
All of the people in this book are doing their bit to promote the island in a positive way, and their advice to tourists is to watch out for yourself and take care, have FUN and enjoy Koh Phangan, but also show some respect along your way because this is our home.
I'd like to make a special mention of the new Koh Phangan Tourist Association, which is taking the lead on the island in looking out for tourists.
Of course a big thank you goes out to all those people who continue to support us!
This issue highlights some of our great local businesses. I recommend that you check out the write-ups on Wat Kao Tahm, Haad Yao Divers, Workshop Silver, Sarai Spa at Sarikantang and Same Same Cooking School. Anyway, have a read for yourself and see what grabs your attention.
I will leave you here so you can go out and start exploring this incredible island… Enjoy! CCS
